Carol Welker - Flash Review

Adobe Flash is a vector-based animation tool. Vector-based means you can enlarge your animations without losing any image quality.

It uses a a timeline and keyframes to create your animation. You can create anything from simple animations to very complex websites. Flash is also great because you can work in a layers environment. This means you can turn layers on and off as you need them. You can also import images or graphics you've created in other programs. Flash also allows you to add sound to your animations. For example, if you want to create a rollover button, you can add a sound to the button so when the user clicks on it it makes that particular sound.

Flash also allows you to create different "stories" within the same Flash file. In other words, if you have a series of heavily animated scenes, you may choose to split them up into different stories to make your workspace more manageable. It does take some getting used to, but it's a great tool.

Flash is one of the industry standard animation programs. It's a great program, however Apple does not support it on the iPhone or iPad so if you need your animation to be seen on those platforms, it's best to use a different animation program.

Flash also has a trial offer to download or buy it for $699.00
