BPM Studio

Sample Creation Tool

BPM Studio by Alcatech was the first DJing software I ever used. Although it is fairly old, dating back to the 90's if I'm not mistaking, it is a solid DJing tool, and it is an alright solution for sample creation and tempo shifting.

As you can see, it comes equipped with a standard two deck system, as well as an equalizer, cd import, folder archiver, and sample deck. The primary feature to focus on here is the sample deck. It is a fairly simple feature to use, allowing you to sample any song as is and change the length of the sample by milliseconds, and the pitch of the sample as well as shifting its tempo. The tempo shifting is particularly easy because the software automatically recognizes most songs and their bpm then identifies it for you.

Overall, it is an adequate solution for sample creation on windows, or even DJing but it is not the best. It is rather old, and has not been updated in since version 4, therefore it is not that great of a choice if you plan on purchasing it.

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Price Range: 299 Euros for the standard version, 499 Euros for the Pro version.

To be honest, I have the Pro version and have never seen the standard version, therefore I have no idea what the difference is between the two.
