Picasa 3

Picasa 3.8 is a free software that allows you to edit still image photos in a variety of ways. You can download this software easily to your computer to use at your leisure. One of the most interesting features of Picasa is that it compiles all of your photos from everything that you have ever had and then sorts them from the year that they were uploaded onto your computer. You can change the tint, the shade; retouch it, red eye of course just like all of your regular image editors. Add text, shadows; change certain areas of the image itself. It also gives you a large variety of effects that you can add to your pictures if you like.

Another interesting feature other than just editing the photos with Picasa 3 is that you can tag the faces in the photos themselves. And then upload them to blogger or your Google album. If you want to create a slide show with all of your photos that is also easily done with the slide show editor that is available to be used with this software. If you’re unsure of the details of the photos with what they were taken with, the dimensions, file site, date taken, etc. Then you can simple click on one of the icons that reveals all of this information to you called info.

This software is completely free and easy to use. All that is required is an Internet connection. You can access it easily here http://picasa.google.com/. One of the main features of this software is that it’s supposed to make your photos easier to view and edit. This software does a great job at accomplishing this. One of the problems that I did have however was that some of the photos it grabbed and wanted me to tag were pictures from video games that had no reason to be mixed in with my real pictures of friends and family. Some of the pictures that I had copied from TV shows and such were also in this group of non wanted photos. Some of the photo editing made me believe that once a photo was edited there would be no going back to the original copy.

Overall I would say that this software is definitely worth trying out if you’re unhappy with your current image editing software and want something simple and easy to use. This can also help you create video from your photos or to render your video too. With all of the great features that are available with Picasa 3 I would have to say that it’s easily one of the best still image software’s that I have run into for a long time because of the simplicity and usability.
