*JayCut*
JayCut is an online video editor. It does not need any software downloaded onto the computer, though it does use Flash. It has eleven different languages, and is free to use. The main idea behind JayCut is that it allows computers with lower computing power an easier way to do mobile video editing, through the use of Flash and a high speed internet connection. There is no fee for making personal movies on JayCut.com, and it is relatively simple to use. JayCut has "premium" options available which are mainly intended for professional use, with prices ranging from $225 per month, to $2495 a month. Jaycut does not require any installation as it is strictly online. JayCut allows multiple people per account to edit videos through a hosted platform on a subscriber's website. JayCut's platform allows professional and corporate users the ability to let their website's users create videos, which helps improve sales and positive traffic to their brand.
Since it is online, all media must be uploaded to the JayCut servers before it can be used in any editing process. File size limitations are 250mb for each file, and uploading typically takes a long time. There are minimal effects and transitions, which definitely leaves something to be desired. JayCut's personal editor does not save your project for later use, so anything that you want to do must be done in one session. Due to the online nature of this tool, it is hard to make a real professional looking video efficiently. Text was hard to edit when I tried adding it with Google Chrome but worked in Internet Explorer.
