IBM's ManyEyes

Page history last edited by npluim 14 years, 9 months ago

IBM’s ManyEyes is a free online application, that requires to sign up for an account.  ManyEyes can be used to create both textural and numerical visualizations.  ManyEyes provides you with all of the resources you will need to create visualizations.  You also have the option to upload or create your own datasets; however whatever you upload will become available to the entire ManyEyes community.  To upload your own numerical data, create a spreadsheet and copy and paste the spreadsheet into the paste data section.

ManyEyes is a great tool to create both textual and numerical visualizations.  It is easy to navigate and provides “learn more” links for each visualization.  One of the best benefits it has to offer, are the numerous of tools provided (4 Text & 16 Numerical).  As for the drawbacks, the amount of data that can be interpreted is limited.  Also the resources provided come from a community of users, and do not have set quality standards.
