- Adobe Character Animator (Francis Eyth)
A new plug-in for After Effects introduced this year that allows you to animate a 2D character, which is set up in Photoshop via layers, using mic and camera input from your computer's webcam. Your camera and mic basically automates your 2D character's mouth and facial expression animations!
Also there are many parameters that more advanced/technical animation or software practitioners can access to further polish an already quick and automated animation production process.

- FinalCut Express
- Final Cut Express is a now discontinued video editing software. It is based on Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Pro X, however it was created for consumers. Despite its discontinuation it is still used by amateur and professional video editors.
- FinalCut Pro
- FinalCut Pro is the industry standard for video editing. One of the great features is you don't have to encode your video footage prior to importing into the program. (Encoding takes a lot of extra time).
- FinalCut also has additional programs that work seamlessly with FinalCut, such as SoundtrackPro where you can tweak your audio to get it just the way you want it, and then re-import it into your working FinalCut file.
- You can purchase FinalCut Pro on campus with your student discount for $599. It is available on the computers in any of the ATEC computer labs.
